Dangerous Waters - rhythm play-along

I have been thinking a lot about the organisation of my lessons and how each theme hangs together. It is important to me that Music is taught with an overarching theme as this not only has cross-curricular importance, but it makes connections between pieces of music during critical listening moments in the classroom. Comparing and contrasting music that has been inspired by Water is one such way.

In my Water topic, I have used various rhythm playalongs as break activities within the lesson and there are lots of fantastic resources already out there! But I decided I wanted a clear and definite link to the Water theme that could also lead on to a discussion about how this music makes us feel and perhaps even use it as a compositional inspiration in the classroom. I also love the challenge of a rhythm duet - elevating the skills to not only reading the music, but listening to how each part fits together.

If you are doing a Water themed topic, why not check it out!
